Vivo Y95 and Y81i: Vivo's struggle continuous in the lower budget segment

Vivo Y95
Vivo has been great in 2018. Till last year, we saw Vivo phones carrying old hardwares, low specs according to the price. Only the cameras were in their priority list. But now Vivo has come up with good specs with fine pricing also. We saw first UD fingerprint scanner from them and now more reputed brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus are using them in their phones also. We saw the first all screen display with sd845, pop up camera and no notch from them, the Vivo Nex. We also got the Vivo V11 Pro with great combination of AMOLED screen, waterdrop notch with IR face unlock, UD FP scanner and a great view on the rear side.

But we are still unable to find a good lower mid range or budget range smartphone from the brand till now. Vivo has done impressive improvements in their flagship and upper mid range phones like V9 Pro, V11, X21 etc. But still unable to find perfect balance in the lower mid range market. Recently Vivo launched two mid range phones in China but the specs were not justifying to their respective prices. The Vivo Y81i(priced at USD 138) and Vivo Y95( priced at USD 263) are those phones which have no match to their specs and pricing. In this article, we are gonna discuss the compromises you have to face to purchase those two mid range phones with Vivo branding.

HD+ Displays:

In the age of competing between specs and pricing, Vivo is keeping ahead the price. As we can see Full HD displays in the price range of 9k even, Vivo is providing 720p screens in 10k and even in 15k segments. As both the phones find with HD+ this will be the biggest drawback as we use the display of the phone most of the time. And the 720p resolution display with pixel density of less than 300 PPI is not satisfactory in the end of 2018 at least in this price. Though both the device has notch but screen resolution matters most.

Lower budget processors:

In the performance department, you also have to face difficulties as both the devices don't have enough powerful chipsets that can justify the pricing. The Y81i has MediaTek A22, which already low grade performer with 2GHz clock speed with 2 GB of ram. In the other hand the Y95 has the newer Snapdragon Soc, named sd439, which is a 12 nm based chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz with 4 GB ram option. Where other brands are providing 636 and 660 n this budget, Vivo lacks behind and provides 7k processor in 10k budget.

Battery and other features:

The lower end phone had a 3260 maH battery and the Y95 has a 4030 maH battery. The Y81i lacks some power as we can see bigger batteries nowadays of 4000 or 5000 maH near 10k segment. It also has lesser ram as 2 GB ram can only be seen under 7k nowadays. Also the 400 series is not justifying to the price of 15k.
Vivo needs to upgrade their mid range phones very soon as only good cameras can't compete today's market needs nowadays. Be it in the online or offline market people more choices now.

Nokia X6 vs Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1: Race between the Notch and the 5000 maH battery

Hello and welcome again to participate in another discussion of us. This time the discussion is all about the mid-range fighters, Nokia's latest release, the Nokia X6 and Asus's Zenfone Max Pro M1. Both the devices come with almost same specifications. Some minor differences make the phones unique. We will calculate today the differences and find which will be providing a better value for your money.
Design and build:       The two phones come with different type of design as the Nokia X6 provides both side glass build with aluminium framing and the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with a metal back and polycarbonate framing and antenna bands. Nokia is considered as a good durability provider with their phones, but this time the glass build makes it look a little weaker as the glass back doesn't seem too much strong against the shocks. Nokia comes with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 where the Zenfone Max Pro M1 doesn't have any protection.
